Boom chukka boom boom
My parents came into town on their way through from visiting my relatives up in British Columbia. At last - the week is done! I'm glad personally, I've been not feeling well and have had a very low energy level. At least I'll get to relax this weekend. I'm planning on seeing Matrix Revolutions at the Imax on Saturday, so that should be pretty fun. If all goes well there might be a bit of party going on afterwards and that will be good because I will get to see some friends that I have been ignoring of late because of all the stress in my life.
On Wednesday morning I got a bit of bad news. My Grandma has suffered a minor heart attack and is in the hospital. My parents went up to Canada to spend time with her, and be there to support her. I wish I could have gone with them, but with work being as busy as it is, and being under this much stress I simply don't have the bandwidth, time, or energy to go up and see her.
On a final note it really hit me how old and jaded I am last night. My friend Randy was spinning a set at Aristocrats and I went down to hear it. It was a great set and I managed to bust a move for the first time in over 3 months. I sat there wearing my work clothes and sipping a martini looking out at all the party kids dancing and it struck me as to how far from that scene I've gotten. With the exception of a few friends that I have known for years I knew no one there. I almost got the feeling that I was 'the outsider' at one of the parties that a few short years ago would have been my prime environment. *sigh* My how we all change and grow.
