Worse than I had feared, better than I had hoped

So it’s been a while since I’ve posted to my blog – things have been busy. The week has been long and hard, but had a lot of good points to it. The idea of “quitting my day job” to pursue photography has gone from a glimmering hope, to something tangible and possible – if not seemingly impossibly far away. My involvement in Carnevali has generated a lot of business for me, and prompted me to get started on sparktography.com so that I have a way to market myself. I still have a long way to go, and will probably be at my current employer for at least another 2 years, but if I keep with it good things will happen.

I got my W2 form today and am pleased to announce that I’ll be getting a refund this year. It’s not as big as I would have hoped, but I’m betting that next year it will be bigger. I’m going to see what I can do to do additional consulting for my parents church and a few other charitable contributions to pay less and less money to the government. HORRAY!
