Posting less and less + more and more

I’m not sure if I’m just losing energy towards blogging, or if I’m just much busier these days with other things - or both, but I have been posting less and less frequently. One thing I know is that it’s certainly not for a lack of interesting and exciting things to post about!

Last weekend was fairly quiet, but I certainly got a lot done. I worked a bit more on the book I’m writing, as well as got some awesome shots taken care of and ready for print. Things have been somewhat slow with my photography as well, but I’ve been enjoying it more now that about 80% of the shots I take are for fun. I still want to move into photography as a career, but I’ve come to realize that I should not be in any hurry – just take things as they come and when I know the time is right I’ll do something about it.

Cyn was due with her baby on Sunday and it was a bit nerve wracking for everyone waiting for her to have the baby. On Tuesday morning Cyn went into labor and in the early evening her beautiful daughter was born at 7lbs 1oz. Her name is Charlotte and she is simply adorable. It was nice to go sit down with her on Wednesday after work and take a few photos of the two of them together. I can’t wait to get them in a studio and do some really cool mother/daughter shots capturing the power of life.

I’m really getting excited about taking a vacation next week. I have 5 days off from work and am going to be going to an outdoor music festival called the Phoenix Fest down in Oregon. It’s a mini-burning man of sorts and every year that I’ve gone in the past has been a blast. I’ve been needing some serious time off for a while what with Ann’s death, buying my condo, and dealing with a million other of life’s little stresses.

I have my end of quarter review on Monday and I’m a little nervous. I have been kicking ass at work this quarter, and am very good at reviews, I always just get nervous around them. I help compensate for this by being overly prepared, so I’ve typed up a few pages of thoughts and will go though them this weekend and pick out the most important things to focus on.

Well off for now. I have dinner + drinks with the Brew Night Crew in a couple of hours and I want to get some more writing done before I leave. Ta ta for now – I’ll be interested to see when my next post is.
