The bad part of the job

Yesterday was a generally bad day, but I got some good results for it. It got the first truly unpleasant bit of recruiting thrown in my face – I had to fire a contractor who was a friend of mine. It really sucked because I had very little to do with the process, until the client decided to pull the plug and I had to be the bearer of bad news. I made an early day of it and went out for a couple of drinks to talk with my friend and get him calmed down and ready to face a brave new workless world.

After that Dominic came over to clean and I pitched in, managing to go through my closet and throw away a bunch of stuff. I moved all my furniture around and am quite pleased with the results. I now have a lot more room in my condo, which will help give Skype more romping room.

I get to go see Skype tonight and I’m completely excited – I can’t wait to see how much he’s grown. If Sunday was any indication he should be pretty playful by now!
